Join us at the Final Conference on 13 May 2023 in Munich!

All Inc!’s Franziska, from our DE1 team, reminds us in this week’s post of the project’s upcoming conference โ€” vielen Dank Franziska!

The All Inc! project started in September 2020 in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic. We know that the pandemic situation made things worse for many LGBT+ people, the young in particular: youth clubs and advice centres were closed, and there were shutdowns in many European countries. Knowing about this situation led to even more motivation within the project team to get closer to the projectโ€™s vision of building LGBT+ friendly schools across Europe: we started with a survey in the eight participating countries and asked pupils, teachers, parents, higher education students and lecturers about their knowledge of and attitudes towards the LGBT+ reality, and did some literature review about the situation in our countries, which resulted in a book publication (A Little Respect?). We asked students, teachers, parents and LGBT+ organisations and co-created a vision for an LGBT+ friendly school (Co-creating a vision for LGBT+ friendly schools). Teachers and lecturers within the project team developed didactic materials in their own language and in English which are available and ready to use for any interested teachers on the All Inc! website (Tools for schools). At the moment, selected materials are being tested and evaluated in different schools. All these efforts and findings feed into recommendations for educational institutions of the participating countries and the European Union.

We are proud to present the insights we have gained within the All Inc! project in the framework of an international conference: the Final Conference of the All Inc! project on 13 May 2023 in Munich.

Who is the conference aimed at?

  • Researchers in the LGBT+ field.
  • Teachers of all types of schools and all subjects who are interested in the topic of LGBT+ issues in schools (if you think it would be useful, you are welcome to bring pupils with you!).
  • Student teachers from all types of schools and all subjects who are interested in the topic.
  • Staff in non-school educational institutions who (would like to) deal with LGBT+ matters.

To enrich our own insights, we warmly invite you to participate in the conference and/or to submit contributions (research results and best-practice examples from the classroom and the wider school environment that aim to impart knowledge about LGBT+ issues and reduce prejudice and discrimination against LGBT+ people).

Registration for the conference and submission of papers is now open ๐Ÿ˜Š

All information on the conference can be found at All Inc! Conference.

We look forward to welcoming you in Munich on 13 May 2023!
