A very special conference

On 13 May 2023, the final conference of the Erasmus+ project All Inc! Building LGBT+ friendly schools across Europe took place at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. The target groups were not only researchers, but also teachers from all types of schools, student teachers, staff in non-school educational institutions and even pupils.

The programme was correspondingly colourful: besides a classic keynote by Ravi K. Perry (Howard University, Washington, D.C.), the second keynote might have surprised researchers in particular: Timo Schweitzer, in his role as Malte Anders, thrilled the audience with his “Homology – the Comedy EduGAYtion Program”. In poster presentations, young researchers presented their research projects, including many admission theses from the teacher training programme. In various workshops, teachers and non-school educational institutions such as the Aufklärungsprojekt München e.V. presented best practice examples and invited the participants to actively participate and ask many questions. In research presentations, results of current studies in the field of LGBT+ in different countries were presented and discussed.

It was an exciting and inspiring day with a lot of exchange between the participants from different countries, where new contacts were made and perhaps new ideas started.

Many thanks to all who were there!
